CarrierSignal ("CarrierSignal," "we," "us," or "our") is a business operated by Veridian Digital LLC, a Michigan limited liability company doing business under the assumed name CarrierSignal.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information when you use the CarrierSignal website and application at getcarriersignal.com and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information necessary to provide, secure, operate, and improve the Service.

1.1 Account Information

When you create or use a CarrierSignal account, we may collect:

  • Email address;
  • Password information;
  • Google account information if you sign in with Google, including your name, email address, and profile image;
  • Name and profile photo, if you choose to provide them;
  • Additional email addresses associated with your account;
  • Connected authentication accounts;
  • Account and session information.

Authentication and account management are provided by Clerk.

1.2 Organization and Team Information

If you use CarrierSignal as part of an organization, we may collect:

  • Organization name;
  • Organization membership information;
  • User roles;
  • Member names and email addresses;
  • Pending invitation email addresses;
  • Organization billing and subscription information.

Organization administrators and other authorized users may have access to certain information about other members of their organization, as described below.

1.3 Billing and Payment Information

CarrierSignal uses Stripe to process subscription payments.

When an organization subscribes to CarrierSignal, Stripe may collect and process:

  • Payment card or other payment-method information;
  • Billing name;
  • Billing email address;
  • Billing address;
  • Invoices;
  • Receipts;
  • Payment history;
  • Other information necessary to process payments.

CarrierSignal does not store credit card numbers, card expiration dates, CVV codes, or bank account payment details.

CarrierSignal receives and stores limited billing information associated with an organization, such as:

  • Stripe customer ID;
  • Stripe subscription ID;
  • Plan name;
  • Price or plan identifier;
  • Seat count;
  • Subscription status;
  • Cancellation status;
  • Relevant billing timestamps.

Stripe processes payment information under its own privacy practices and terms.

1.4 Search and Usage Information

When you use CarrierSignal's carrier search functionality, search filters and related request information are transmitted to our systems so that we can provide search results and generate requested exports.

Search and export filters are not stored by CarrierSignal as persistent application data after the request is processed.

Certain request information may be temporarily processed or recorded by our service providers as part of operating, securing, and troubleshooting the Service.

CSV exports are generated on demand and are not retained server-side after generation.

1.5 Device and Session Information

Authentication and security services may automatically collect information associated with your sign-in sessions, including:

  • IP address;
  • Approximate geographic location derived from IP address;
  • Browser type;
  • Device type;
  • Sign-in activity;
  • Last-active information;
  • Active and historical session/device information.

This information is primarily processed for authentication, security, and session management.

1.6 Website Analytics

CarrierSignal uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand how visitors use our website.

Vercel Web Analytics is designed to be cookieless and may process aggregated information such as:

  • Page viewed;
  • Referrer;
  • UTM parameters;
  • Approximate region or country;
  • Device type;
  • Operating system;
  • Browser information.

We do not use advertising networks or behavioral advertising trackers on CarrierSignal.

1.7 Information You Provide When Booking a Demo

The CarrierSignal marketing website provides a "Book a Demo" feature.

Currently, demo scheduling is handled through Calendly.

Information you enter when scheduling a demo is transmitted to the applicable scheduling provider and may also be added to the calendar of a CarrierSignal team member.

2. How We Collect Information

We collect information through several channels.

Information You Provide Directly

You may provide information when you:

  • Create or sign into an account;
  • Connect a Google account;
  • Update your account profile;
  • Create or join an organization;
  • Invite team members;
  • Manage organization membership;
  • Subscribe to CarrierSignal;
  • Manage billing;
  • Contact us;
  • Schedule a demo.

Information Collected Automatically

Information may be collected automatically when you use the Service, including:

  • IP address;
  • Approximate geographic location;
  • Browser and device information;
  • Session information;
  • Request information;
  • Page-view information;
  • Search request parameters.

Browser Storage

CarrierSignal uses browser sessionStorage to temporarily preserve your most recent search filters and page number.

This information remains in your browser tab and is cleared when the tab is closed.

CarrierSignal does not use localStorage for this purpose and does not store search state on our servers.

3. Cookies and Similar Technologies

CarrierSignal itself does not set advertising cookies or use cookies for behavioral advertising.

Certain third-party services used by CarrierSignal may use cookies or similar technologies necessary to provide their services.

Clerk

Clerk may use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, session management, and maintaining sign-in state.

Vercel Web Analytics

Vercel Web Analytics does not require cookies for its analytics functionality.

Stripe

Stripe may use cookies or similar technologies on Stripe-hosted pages, including Checkout and the Billing Portal, for purposes such as fraud prevention.

CarrierSignal does not use Stripe's payment cookies on its own application pages.

Google

When you use Google services through CarrierSignal, such as Google sign-in or the applicable demo-booking experience, Google may use cookies and similar technologies according to Google's own policies.

Session Storage

CarrierSignal may use browser sessionStorage to remember your most recent search state during a browser session. Session storage is not a cookie.

4. How We Use Information

We use information for the following purposes:

Providing the Service

We use information to:

  • Create and manage accounts;
  • Authenticate users;
  • Manage organizations and team members;
  • Provide carrier searches;
  • Generate requested exports;
  • Provide carrier profile information;
  • Process subscriptions and payments;
  • Manage seat limits and subscription status;
  • Provide customer support;
  • Maintain and operate the Service.

Security and Fraud Prevention

  • Authenticate requests;

Clerk provides authentication, account management, organization management, session management, and related functionality.

  • Authentication information;
  • Billing-summary information maintained by CarrierSignal.

Stripe

Stripe provides payment processing, subscription billing, hosted Checkout, and the Billing Portal.

Stripe may process:

  • Payment-method information;
  • Billing name;
  • Billing email;
  • Billing address;
  • Invoices and receipts;
  • Payment history.

CarrierSignal also provides Stripe with limited organization information, including the organization name and Clerk organization ID, which may be stored by Stripe as customer metadata.

Vercel

Vercel provides website hosting and analytics services for CarrierSignal and may process technical information associated with website requests.

Google

Google may process information when you:

  • Choose Google as an authentication provider; or
  • Use Google-related calendar functionality through our demo-booking process.

When you use Google authentication, Google may provide CarrierSignal through Clerk with information such as your name, email address, and profile image.

Other Service Providers

We may use additional service providers to support functions such as hosting, data storage, monitoring, security, communications, and other business operations.

These providers may process personal information only as reasonably necessary to provide services to CarrierSignal.

6. Information Shared Within Your Organization

CarrierSignal is designed for use by organizations and teams.

Organization administrators may be able to view:

  • Organization members;
  • Member names;
  • Member email addresses;
  • Member roles;
  • Pending invitations;
  • Organization billing status;
  • Seat usage.

Any organization member may be able to view certain organization-level billing information displayed within the application, including the plan, subscription status, seat usage, and certain Stripe identifiers.

Only authorized administrators can perform certain billing actions, such as starting checkout, changing plans, or accessing the Stripe Billing Portal.

CarrierSignal does not share one customer's private account information with another customer or organization.

7. What We Do Not Do

CarrierSignal does not:

  • Sell personal information;
  • Rent personal information to third parties;
  • Use advertising networks to target CarrierSignal users;
  • Maintain a database of customer passwords;
  • Store customer credit card numbers;
  • Store customer CVV codes;
  • Store customer search history as persistent application records;
  • Retain generated CSV exports server-side after they are generated;
  • Use customer search queries for advertising purposes.

8. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

Account Information

Account information is generally retained until the account is deleted or otherwise removed.

Certain session, security, or operational information may be retained according to the practices of the services used to provide authentication and security.

Organization Information

Organization information and the billing summary maintained by CarrierSignal are generally retained until the organization is deleted, subject to applicable legal or operational requirements.

Payment Information

Stripe retains payment, invoice, and transaction information according to its own retention practices and applicable legal and financial-record requirements.

Deleting a CarrierSignal organization does not necessarily delete Stripe's records.

Service and Request Logs

Certain technical and request information may be retained for a limited period by our service providers for purposes such as security, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and operation of the Service.

Analytics

Analytics information is aggregated and retained according to the applicable analytics provider's retention practices.

Search State

Search state stored in browser sessionStorage remains until the browser tab is closed.

CSV Exports

CSV exports are generated on demand and are not intentionally retained on CarrierSignal's servers.

9. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

These safeguards include encryption in transit, authentication and access controls, secure payment processing through Stripe, and other measures appropriate to the nature of the information we process.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed as a result of a security incident.

If we become aware of a security incident involving personal information, we will respond in accordance with applicable law.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and which privacy laws apply to you, you may have rights regarding your personal information.

These rights may include the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect and how we use it;

  • Request correction of inaccurate information;

Account Self-Service

You can manage certain information directly through CarrierSignal.

Depending on your account and role, you can:

  • Edit your name;
  • Edit your profile photo;
  • Manage email addresses;
  • Manage connected accounts;
  • Change your password;
  • Review active sessions and devices;
  • Revoke active sessions;
  • Delete your account;
  • Leave an organization.

Organization administrators can also manage organization membership and delete the organization through the Service.

CarrierSignal does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

CarrierSignal does not intentionally collect sensitive personal information beyond what may be necessary for authentication, security, billing, or operation of the Service.

13. Sale and Sharing of Personal Information

CarrierSignal does not sell personal information for monetary consideration.

CarrierSignal does not share personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Our service providers may process personal information on our behalf for purposes such as authentication, hosting, billing, security, analytics, and service operation.

14. Children's Privacy

CarrierSignal is intended for business and professional use and is not directed to children.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

CarrierSignal is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services that operate independently from CarrierSignal.

CarrierSignal and its service providers may process or store information in the United States and other jurisdictions where our service providers operate.

If you access CarrierSignal from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.

17. Business Transfers

If Veridian Digital LLC or CarrierSignal is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or similar transaction, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.

We will provide any notices required by applicable law regarding material changes to how personal information is handled.
